Oh, CD Projekt Red… how you toy with our emotions! For the last week or 2 there have been speculations, rumors and supposed leaks (Yes, I’m looking at you CNET…. Tsk tsk) about the information and release date of the upcoming The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt DLC, Blood and Wine.
We will always go to the dev to try and get the correct information – and in this case we did, a few times…
But, alas, we were not given any exclusives or insight until the general release from The Witcher’s twitter account this morning (via @witchergame):
So, the new DLC has an official release date of 5/31/16 – ha! Take that you leakers! And you all said it was 5/30/16… SHAME! SHAME! *insert best Game of Thrones bell ringer voice*
From The Witcher’s website:
“Welcome to the land of summer, a remote valley untouched by war. The land of wandering knights, noble ladies and magnificent wineries. What better time to visit than now, when this kingdom of virtue is torn apart by a series of savage massacres! Geralt of Rivia, a legendary monster slayer, takes on his last great contract. Blood and Wine offers over 30 hours of adventure, where beauty clashes with horror, and love dances with deceit.”
We’re definitely excited about the new DLC! It boasts an entire new region and is being advertised as the games final quest. Game director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz confirms that there are more than 90 new quests and over 30 hours of brand new adventures. He says there are also a massive amount of features that they are adding:
- Dynamic Point of Interest System
- Brand New Gwent Deck
- New Endgame Mutation Mechanics
- A Home for Geralt
All of these new features will take place in the new region – which the dev says is as big, or bigger, that No Man’s Land.
This DLC is included in the Hearts of Stone expansion pass or you can buy it for $19.99.
